Oaklawn Cemetery and Funeral Home has a rich history in Jacksonville that began with their first burial in 1927. With countless local families laid to rest on the lawns and in mausoleums since the cemetery’s beginning, strong tradition and family values have been maintained through Oaklawn’s years of operation.

The Needham family owned and operated the beautiful cemetery until their death in 1952 when they willed their beloved Oaklawn to trusted and loyal employee, Leonora Taylor. With endless dedication, Leonora continued to operate the cemetery that was left to her by the Needham’s. Leonora, along with her son Neil Taylor, nephew Wesley Taylor and granddaughter Jan Taylor, made Oaklawn the landmark that it is today.

Today, Oaklawn is owned by Leonora’s grandchildren Jan and Mark Taylor and operated by Ginny Taylor. For years the Taylor’s have provided Northeast Florida families with the perfect place to say goodbye to their loved ones. Their dedication to helping people at difficult times of loss has been the inspiration that has driven Oaklawn and the Taylor family and will continue to do so for years to come.
